Why I Left a Corporate Job to Pursue Social Media

In April of 2018, I decided to delete my personal Instagram account and create a new one. At the time, I was working a corporate job that I hated, and needed a creative outlet to cope. Blogging and influencing has always been in the back of my mind as something I wished I could do. A part of me was craving to be apart of this community. For months I ruminated over this, and was often scared off by a tiny voice in the back of my mind saying, "too many girls are already doing it, and they're prettier, and smarter, and blahhhhh blahhhh blahhh"

After months of internally debating this, I decided to take the leap! I quit my soul sucking job, and told that tiny voice to kindly shut the hell up. I went into this expecting a creative outlet, and wound up with a business.

Fast forward four months later to today, and I can't even put into words how this "hobby" has opened up so many doors for me. I have never felt more fulfilled in my life, and I am so grateful for this. A year ago I had no creative passion, and would have scoffed at you if you would have told me I would do a complete 180 in 2018.

I juggle a new full time job with the social media work on the side. I am busier than I have ever been but could never complain.

Social media has literally changed my life. If you find that statement dramatic, you haven't figured out the impact it can have on you, your business, and your success (HMU when you're ready for that blog post).

If you're thinking about doing something similar on social media and/or have ever had these same doubts, hear this! Yes, there may be literally millions of girls doing this already. NEWS FLASH: there is no YOU doing it. No matter what your desires are, don't let the idea of others doing it distract you from accomplishing your goals. Be authentic, be yourself, and most importantly, HAVE FUN! You will attract your own success.
