He Wouldn't Match With Me on Bumble!

Confession: post-college graduation, I was a serial Bumble dater. 90% for the free dinners, 10% for the slight chance I might like the dude. It definitely made being the new girl in Kansas City entertaining!

When I started my new job in October of 2016, I distinctly remember this tall goofy dude that cracked a joke during our on-boarding meeting. Everybody laughed at him, and THAT. IS. MY. WEAKNESS. I had to meet him. So... Operation: GOOFY BOY was engaged.

I would see him every now and then in the hallway and strut my stuff a little or throw him a smile. Homeboy was not getting the picture. Every time I saw him, I got this vibe that he was thinking "wtf is this chick doing." Fast forward a bit, and I'm basically over this chase. So, I'm back on Bumble, looking for the next fellow who wants to sponsor my bottomless breadstick addiction. To my surprise, I stumbled upon AJ's Bumble profile.

*Internal freakout* DO I SWIPE RIGHT? WHAT IF HE THINKS THAT SO WEIRD SINCE WE WORK TOGETHER? IF I SWIPE LEFT AND HE SWIPED RIGHT I'LL NEVER KNOW IF WE COULD HAVE MATCHED AND THIS COULD BE MY CHANCE?

I swiped right, and wouldn't you know it, that little gremlin did not. Now I felt awko-taco anytime I would see him because I was thinking to myself, "why didn't you swipe right dude? I'm fun, I shower daily-ish, what more do you need?!"

FAST FORWARD 6 MONTHS LATER: AJ and I have a mutual friend named Qendresa. She texted me one day saying "Hey, I have the perfect guy for you based off of your Twitter personality." I told her send me a picture of this man. GUESS WHO IT IS...AJ NESBIT himself!

She had no idea I had been eyeing him for months, so basically it was fate. Anyways, being the sneaky little women that we are, we constructed a happy hour for the sole purpose of making AJ & Bria a thing.

THE HAPPY HOUR: A group of about 10 of us met up for drinks at a local Mexican restaurant called Margaritas. Everyone except AJ knew what the plan was. The seating arrangement didn't quite work out, so we performed a very obvious musical chairs until I was in talking distance of future bae. So now I'm putting the charm on overload. *Bat lashes, touch his arm, tell a joke, repeat*

Qendresa was very right about us being quite the match. It was smooth sailing after the happy hour. He was quick to seal the deal with me and we've been rockin' ever since!
